APOCÆLYPSE is a modern metal band built on precision, intensity, and a forward-thinking vision. Created and fronted by veteran guitarist Ira Black (Vio-Lence, Metal Church, I Am Morbid, Lizzy Borden, Westfield Massacre), APOCÆLYPSE marks a defining new chapter in his career as he steps into the role of lead vocalist and primary creative force, writing all music and lyrics. Drawing on decades of experience rooted in the Bay Area thrash scene and a relentless history of global touring, Black pushes beyond familiar territory, blending aggression, melody, and cinematic scope into a powerful contemporary sound. Alongside his son, classically trained guitarist Ira Black IV, bassist Matt Snell (formerly of Five Finger Death Punch), and drummer Lonny Pasillas (formerly of Kill Devil Hill), APOCÆLYPSE brings together a formidable lineup with a sound and identity all its own.

The band made its introduction with “INTELL-I-GENTS,” released June 5 alongside its official video, which has surpassed 1.4 million views on YouTube. Follow-up single “BLACK BOX” arrived July 17, revealing a more personal side of the band through an autobiographical song written by Ira Black that reflects on the experiences that shaped him. The third single, “FÆNIX… OUT OF FLAMES,” serves as the title track to APOCÆLYPSE’s debut 10-song album, FÆNIX, released August 28, 2026. Available on all digital platforms and on CD, the album establishes the foundation for what comes next, with tour dates and festival appearances to be announced.
