ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Prong formed in 1986 by Tommy Victor and Mike Kirkland, both working at the legendary NYC club CBGB.

Emerging from the Lower East Side art and music underworld along with ties to the New York Hardcore scene, Prong quickly gained notoriety with its unique sound. A local following began and drew attention nationally and in the UK with the release of the EP “Primitive Origins” . After the release and success of the full length “Force Fed” in 1987, Prong was a target for larger record labels with the band eventually signing with Epic records. Henceforth, the delivery of “Beg To Differ “, a record that has influenced many and is sited as the original “groove metal “record. It featured the riff that was the MTV “Headbangers Ball “theme .

“Prove You Wrong” and the very successful “Cleansing” followed. The latter gave the music world the rock club and radio hit “Snap Your Fingers , Snap Your Neck” . This song remains a classic; being on many streaming playlists.

Prong is still current today, recently releasing the critically acclaimed “State Of Emergency”. This 13th studio album features the modern groove metal anthem “Breaking Point” as well as an applauded cover of Rush’s “Working Man”.

Prong continues to crush audiences worldwide with hundreds of shows under its belt featuring the best songs from its large catalog and the favorites thrown in!
